Happy to Welcome Alice de Roux
Following my 5 years studies in business law back in my hometown Angers (France), I decided to move to Brighton to improve my English and have a great experience abroad. So far, I am really loving my experience and Brighton ! I met amazing people and I made good friends. I started off with a 3 months English course and even found a job as a waitress in an ice cream shop where I worked for 6 months. It was an enriching experience that taught me a lot! In June my experience almost ended as I went back to France to find a serious job in law, but in the end I have been contacted by Adeptis Group and now I’m with Adeptis and still here in Brighton…
Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life – Confucius
Why did you join Adeptis Group?
Firstly, I wanted to try recruitment and I think that Adeptis is the perfect company to start in it. It’s a start-up with a very good working atmosphere – my team is really motivating – and it’s the global leader in cyber security! Moreover, Adeptis is located in Brighton, a city that I love – what else do I need ?!
How did you end up working in recruitment?
For my gap year, I spent the last year in Brighton. To find an easy job as a waitress that helps me improve my English I uploaded my CV on Indeed. Thanks to that, Adeptis found me and sent me their job description for an executive search consultant they were looking for. I was already back in France at the time, but immediately attracted to the job opportunity that I decided to come straight back to Brighton. Initially, I was looking for a job as a lawyer, but I was a little bit fed up by the law, and it was the perfect opportunity to change my career perspective. I wanted more contact with people. For me, to speak and help people in their professional life is enjoyable. I think recruitment brings me a thing that I missed in the law industry.
What would be your second choice job?
When I was young I wanted to be physiotherapist. I was not bad in doing a back massage !
How my colleagues see me?
I hope as a friendly girl that is serious in her job !
Where you see yourself in 5 years ?
I see myself still working in recruitment, in England or in France.
What do you do to preserve the planet?
I recycle my rubbish every day and I try to turn off the light when I leave a room.
For me it’s important to avoid unnecessary wastage !
